Biography

Jennifer has lived in Coeur d’Alene for over 40 years.  She graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School and went to the University of Idaho where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and teaching certificates in Speech and Journalism. She went straight into law school at the University of Idaho College of Law and graduated in December 1998.

Jennifer started her legal career at the Spokane City Prosecutor’s Office in July, 1999 and then moved to the Coeur d’Alene City Attorney’s Office, Criminal Division in August, 2000.  In January, 2001 she became the Managing Attorney of the Criminal Division.

In January, 2005 Jennifer went to work at the law firm of Walker, Amendola, Andersen & Doty, PLLC (now Amendola, Doty & Brumley, PLLC) and became a partner in July, 2008.  Since her move to private practice she has specialized in family law, including divorce, custody, child support, adoption, termination and guardianship.  As part of her work she also drafts wills, power of attorney and living wills. Jennifer believes that finding a common ground and settling a case is often the best for all involved.  That said, there are case that must and do go to trial and her clients get an experienced advocate in the courtroom.

Jennifer is currently on the council of the Family Law Section for the Idaho State Bar, having served as the chair, the vice-chair, and secretary.  Jennifer participates in meetings out of Boise to facilitate and connect members of the family law bar and work with family law attorneys to keep them trained and informed of the most current topics in family law.  Jennifer is also a member of the Court Assistance Office Committee and Idaho Child Support Guideline Committee appointed by the Idaho Supreme Court.  These Committees are comprised of attorney, judges, and court personnel around the state.  The Committee works together to create and improve upon the standard forms that are available for unrepresented individuals to use in moving forward with court action on their own.

In her spare time, Jennifer loves to relax at Priest Lake and spend time with her family and friends in the outdoors.
